Woodstock Elementary is thrilled to host a dynamic mix of hands-on afterschool programs that spark growth through learning, play, and exploration.
Save the date! Registration for Fall afterschool programs opens bright and early—Friday, August 15 at 7am.
Information will be updated as it is approved by the school office. Registration is handled individually by each of the programs offering classes each semester - the PTA can not assist with registration or payments.
The Woodstock PTA and ShuRen offer a limited number of partial scholarships to afterschool programs each quarter. Please check in with individual programs for scholarships first. Some scholarships can be requested through the school counselor, Ponny Kosmas.

Adventures in Spanish
Interactive play-based Spanish lessons designed to help kids build fluency, confidence, and cultural awareness through fun activities and immersive learning!

Animation 101: Write, Storyboard, Animate!
Students will learn about and engage with the process of animation; from script-writing, to storyboarding to creating their own flip book short. This class reinforces the students' daily curriculum with reading and writing exercises, as well as introducing young learners to skills like pitching their ideas/public speaking. Each student will have the opportunity to create their own 30 sec - 1 min animated short by the end of the class.

Animation 102: Let's Make A Cartoon!
Students must have previously taken Animation 101. As a class, young learners will work together to create an animated short approximately 3min - 5min in length. Together we will develop a short story, write a script, design assets like characters and backgrounds and film the work.

Busy Bees PDX
At Busy Bees, every session is like opening a tiny, hand-wrapped present—filled with nature, creativity, and surprise. From jam and herbal tea to tie-dye and clay mini-worlds, we offer hands-on experiences that spark wonder, confidence, and connection. Inspired by the natural world and guided by imagination, our small-group programs invite kids to slow down, get messy, and make magic.

Chinese Wushu
Wushu, which is sometimes called Guoshu, Gongfu, or Kung Fu in the West, is the overall term for all self-defense sports in China. Wushu has evolved to become a national sport in the People’s Republic of China, with standardized forms, judging criteria and annual competitions. Most of the modern competition forms were derived from parent (or classic) styles and forms.

Coding with Kids: Little Coders – Minecraft Modding

Electronic Music Club
We're passionate about introducing children to the exciting world of music composition through technology. Our after-school and camp programs are designed to engage and inspire students to explore the possibilities of music in the digital age.

Hand Sewing (Fall and Holiday Decor): In this session, students will learn the valuable life skill of hand sewing while creating charming Fall and holiday-themed felt decorations. Thousands of years old Qinglv painting scrolls, the unique architecture of Suzhou gardens, the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City, paper-cut window grilles, the twelve zodiac stamps, the earliest example of stone carving art — the Stone Drums — and the transfer technique of engraved art known as rubbing. Come join our class and we will work together as a team to experience and create all these beautiful and colorful symbols of Chinese Culture through Songs & Handcrafts!
