What it is

The Kindergarten Buddy program aims to build a community of support for incoming parents/caregivers during the first weeks of school. “Buddies,” or the parents/caregivers of current students, provide a positive first introduction to Woodstock by being a friendly resource and answering FAQs (for ex. how to setup Konstella, where to download PPS school calendars and lunch menus, how to register for after-school programs, what to do if your child is tardy or sick, etc.). We will provide templates for Buddies to send 3 checkpoint messages before, during, and after the first weeks of school.

What it is Not

Buddies are not expected to be “official” representatives of Woodstock Elementary or PTA. They do not need to send additional messages and are not required to meet up in person. They do not need to provide any additional expertise (outside of reinforcing what is available in existing resources from the PPS district website, Remind, Konstella, etc. Buddies can check with the PTA Board when a question arises they do not have the answer to.
